New Ideas - The Simplest Way To Lose Weight Fast

by Scott Edwards

We're all familiar with some individuals who appear to find life very easy, and enjoy one victory after another. Whereas there are also those who live at the other end of the spectrum, and make a mess of everything they do. Victors and victims make up the world, and attitude is very often the one key factor that makes the difference.

It's essential when working on a weight loss program to adopt the habits of the victor to accomplish the right outcome. A piece-meal attempt at dieting without the belief is why the 'victim' will never win. The victors mentally commit to a successful outcome, and support their actions with feeling.

Visualise the finale of a tennis championship, where the player's attitudes are as follows: One says "It's my last chance - I'll give it my best shot," but the other says "Winning is my destiny." Who do you think is taking the cup home with him?

The definition of a victor is someone who has taken ownership of their undertaking, and is accountable and responsible for carrying it out - 'O-A-R'. The definition of a victim on the other hand is a person who always blames others, makes excuses and denies any responsibility 'B-E-D'.

The victor doesn't expect someone else to lead the way - and takes ownership of his or her tasks. He takes account of his actions by taking them seriously. He sees things through by tackling problems instead of creating them. Ultimately, he is very responsible.

In the victim's eyes, there's always a reason why he doesn't achieve, and it's seldom to do with himself. Everything is always someone else's fault - he feels out of control so lays the blame elsewhere. And then he reasons why something didn't go well - although no-one's convinced but him! Over time, the victim assumes a position of absolute denial. He has completely bought-in to the saga of excuses and blaming that he created himself.

A person about to start a new slimming program should stack the odds of success in their favour by giving themselves a mental check-over. Anyone who's a fully paid up member of the victim society will have to address their issues before they start, to truly embrace the concept of losing weight.

Attitudes (both good and bad) are simply habits, and with constant repetition they can be altered. Take note of what you're saying to yourself. If your internal voice sounds like a victim - cut it short immediately and change the tone. It's not true that it's much easier for some than others. Those who've achieved have just worked on their attitude.

We're not victors from the day we're born - we become a victor by working on our attitude. By adopting a positive 'can-do' attitude, any weight-loss goals we set ourselves are achievable.
