Each year U.S. News ranks American colleges and universities according to a complex survey that is completed by college and university Presidents and administrators. U.S. News assigns “best” categories according to however they tally the answers received to a long list of questions.
The results are always a bit controversial as colleges that are ranked poorly feel that mistakes have occurred. In the National Universities group are the 262 American universities (164 public and 98 private) that offer a wide range of undergraduate majors as well as master’s and doctoral degrees; many strongly emphasize research.

One of the recent projects commented on the United States need to improve on foreign language and cultural awareness skills. As one who has lived and worked overseas for many years I can absolutely state that many disagreements and misunderstandings can arise due to an inability to clearly communicate in a foreign language. It is a great mistake to assume because someone in a foreign country speaks English fairly well that they fully understand your meaning in any conversation.
The University of Florida may be best known nationally for its accomplished University of Florida football team but when you take a closer look you can quickly see the UF also offers a quality education.

Austin, Texas is quite a town. Home to the University of Texas and to a number of well known high tech firms, Dell Computer probably being the best known of them, Austin is a delightful mix of college students, laid back Texas locals, and a bunch of very smart high tech savvy folks working at Dell and elsewhere.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is one of the most prestigious and excellent technical institutions in the world. It is not an institution that is easy to gain admission to as academic standards are high. As a world class institution MIT attracts student who are the best and brightest from all corners of the globe.

The cost of attending an on campus college has been increasing at a much faster pace than the official US government CPI figures. It is not unusual for students who have earned their degreesĀ at top ranked colleges to have in excess of $100,000 in student loans to repay.
What a way to start a career.
For all but the most wealthy of families the cost of attending college has become a major budget factor and an expense that can be difficult to meet.
Fortunately, for good students there are a number of scholarship and loan programs thatĀ make attending the college of their choice still possible.
